So…you want to learn how to make an Unwich? Is it time for that low carb diet again? I understand, sister-friend.

There comes a time in a woman’s life when she realizes that she’d rather make herself completely miserable by going without carbs for a large amount of time instead of being overweight and not fitting into her pants.

When I get to the point where I’ve had enough of the baby weight, I found myself casting carbs aside (I usually only make it about 28 hours) and eating high amounts of protein instead. That means delicious cakes, breads, candies — basically, everything that makes life worth living — is completely out. Caput. Gone.

I’m left hungry and wanting food that I don’t have to choke down while I sit and watch little Ri eat her noodles and butter. Lucky for me, Jimmy John’s created a delectable delight that I can eat on the way to playdates or when I’m out with my girlfriends. If you’ve heard of the Unwich, you know what I’m talking about. A lettuce wrap so good that I sometimes don’t even notice that the bread is gone!

After purchasing an Unwich several times a week, I’ve noticed that the price was adding up and that I needed to become more frugal with my pennies. So I did what every self-respecting mom would do and contacted a friend that worked at JJ’s. She came over to teach me the art of making an Unwich right here in my own kitchen…and the good news is that I’m going to share it with you! So follow along belong so you can find out how to make a Jimmy John’s Unwich right in the comfort of your own beautiful home.

*Google requires me to tell you if I got paid by someone to create this post. The answer is no. I write these posts because I enjoy the wonderful blogger relationships I get from the site and the deliciously meaty taste of a big fat Unwich — and I know you will, too.

    1. 1. Fold one corner of the wax paper until the tip is about in the middle of the paper.
      2. Lay unwich on the wax paper with a small portion of the unwich hanging over the folded section of the paper.
      3. Fold one of the perpendicular ends to the other side of the unwich, fold the bottom portion of the paper (the end opposite of the folded end) up towards the top of the unwich, and then fold the remaining side across the top of the unwich, and secure at the bottom with a sticker or some other object.
      4. If you REALLY wanna go the JJ route, then you can wrap that unwich ALL the way up in another piece of wax paper to avoid spilling.
